An anti-terrorism court has sentenced the leader of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa to life in prison

According to details, the court of Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta in Lahore, while ruling on Case No. 16/19 and 25/19 filed by CTD, sentenced four persons including Hafiz Saeed to imprisonment in two cases. Prof. Zafar Iqbal and Yahya Mujahid have been sentenced to 10 and a half years imprisonment while Prof. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Mukki has been sentenced to 6 months imprisonment.

Professor Hafiz Mohammad Saeed has been arrested since July 2019 and four cases have been decided against him so far. A total of 41 cases have been registered by the CTD against the leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, out of which 24 cases have been decided while the rest are pending in the ATC courts. Hafiz Saeed had earlier on February 12 this year Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta had sentenced him to 11 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 30,000 in two cases.
